Visit the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park in Vancouver, B.C.
If you are visiting Vancouver, you definitely have to check out the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. Uniquely scenic any time of the year, the park is nothing short of natural beauty, peacefulness and family-friendly activities.
Once into the Capilano Suspension Park, venture past the Story Centre and find yourself immersed in totem poles. Make your way to the Suspension Bridge and take a wobbly walk on the long swaying bridge.
Just a short drive away from the Vancouver downtown area can get you immersed into nature and tranquility.
Parking can be conveniently found in lots across the street from the entrance. Just remember to pay for parking through the PayByPhone app – location number 4536 or by waiting in line at the parking machine.
Tickets can be purchased at the site or ahead of time online (the savings by booking online was 3 CAD at the time). Children 5 years and younger are free! Allot at least 2.5-3 hours to explore the park.
The park delivers on all fronts, serving those who seek quiet, adventure and education. Its accessibility and beautiful engineering make it easy and fun for those of all ages to experience the forest from a bird’s eye view.
I really enjoyed the interactive activities and learning points that they would have at kiosks throughout the park. My daughter especially enjoyed the Dr. Woods’ Rainforest Explorers activity pamphlet. Upon returning a filled out activity sheet, you are rewarded a biodegradable bracelet to take home that can be planted.
The narrow paths from the Cliffwalk were amazingly beautiful and a tad scary at the same time. So many breathtaking photo opportunities here at Cliffwalk. I found it a little easier to get photos here with less people in the background than the actual suspension bridge.
Be sure to make your way across the swaying bridge and take in the nature all around you. The Capilano Suspension Bridge stretches across the forest canopy, 230 feet above the Capilano River. The Cliffwalk is also so fun and thrilling to explore with its narrow steps set above the canyon. If you want to be outdoors and literally up in the trees, get a good feel for the cultural footprint of the area and be sure to add this park to your must visit list.
