Bon Vivant – The Ultimate French-Inspired Après-Ski

For a more refined après-ski experience, Bon Vivant is an absolute must. Situated at the top of Lift 5 (Polar Queen Express), this open-air, French bistro-style eatery offers jaw-dropping views of the San Juan Mountains and an elevated menu that pairs perfectly with a glass of champagne.  On snowy days, there’s a 39 foot umbrella covering but on sunny days, there’s no covering at all.

What to Order: The French onion soup, duck confit, and a bottle of Veuve Clicquot. You can also gather your group for a shot ski of Fireball to keep the fun going! My 6-year-old loved enjoying a Nutella cinnamon sugar crepe and hot chocolate, while I sipped on a glass of sparkling rosé—the perfect après-ski treat for both kids and adults!

Why We Love It: The combination of gourmet food, an extensive wine selection, and ‘the good life’ vibes make it one of the best high-altitude après-ski spots. To help keep us warm, they also provided our group with thick furry blankets since it was lightly snowing, adding an extra cozy touch to the experience.

Note: If you’re a beginner skier or snowboarder, be aware that you’ll need to ski or board down a blue run to get back down from Bon Vivant. I knew I really wanted to visit here, so I practiced as much as I could to make sure I could make it down in one piece!
Alpino Vino – Fine Dining at 12,000 Feet

If you’re looking for an exclusive and unforgettable dining experience, Alpino Vino is the place to be. Perched at 12,200 feet, it’s the highest-elevation restaurant in North America and is accessible by skiing during the day or via a heated snowcat ride at night.

What to Order: House-made pasta dishes, charcuterie boards, and their renowned Italian wine selection.

Why We Love It: It offers a cozy European-style experience with an intimate setting and some of the finest food and wine in Telluride.

High Camp Warming Hut – A Hidden Gem

Located near Lift 15, High Camp Warming Hut is a laid-back après-ski spot perfect for those who want to warm up with a hot drink and enjoy a relaxed mountain atmosphere.

What to Order: Their famous hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps and a classic grilled cheese sandwich.

Why We Love It: The charming cabin vibes and warm, comforting drinks make this a great pit stop between runs.
