Family Friendly Places to Eat in Whistler

Family Friendly Places to Eat in Whistler

Compared to a lot of other villages in the states, Whistler had a lot of delicious choices for dining and happy hour. If you can, make reservations ahead of time for dinner.
Hereโ€™s a list of our favorite family friendly places to eat in or around Whistler Village. Please call the restaurant directly for up-to-date hours of operation and happy hours (if available).

21 Steps Kitchen & Bar
21 Steps Kitchen + Bar is located in the Main Whistler Village on the second floor of the St. Andrews Building with views of the village and surrounding mountains. The focus here is casual dining, serving generously sized comfort food at fair prices. Some of the standout dishes we liked were the Garlic Chili Prawns, Wild BC Salmon Filet and the Braised Boneless Beef Short Rib. My daughter loved the Sirloin Steak from the kids menu and finished all of it. They werenโ€™t kidding about serving quality food to refuel from your mountain adventures.

Ohyama Ramen
Itโ€™s always tough finding good Asian cuisine in mountain villages.ย ย On a cold day out skiing, ramen always sounds like a great idea.ย ย Luckily we were able to try Ohyama Ramen for lunch, which is located above the Royal Bank right next to the Main Village.ย ย Serving both lunch and dinner service, Ohyama Ramen offers a simple menu of meat and veggie ramens, a few rice dishes and sides. With each ramen, you are able to choose your own seasoning, shio, shoyu or miso.ย ย I really enjoyed the Basic Ramen with shio seasoning.ย ย My daughter always enjoys rice so she got the Chashu Donburi.ย ย The casual restaurant is relatively small and quaint.ย ย Be sure to stop by Fuji Market next door afterwards to pick up some snacks for your snow day.ย

Sushi Village
I booked reservations ahead of time and had a party of 7 and was able to book a tatami room.ย ย A tatami room was perfect for us since we had 3 children in our party.ย ย Tatami offers a Japanese dining experience where a low table is set on woven flooring and seating is on cushions at the table.ย ย Guests are to remove their shoes before stepping onto the tatami flooringโ€”a fun and more intimate dining setting for any larger group.ย ย

Sushi Village is only open for dinner and gets really busy so make sure you make reservations ahead of time.ย ย I love the menu, it offers everything you could find at a traditional Japanese cuisine restaurant.ย ย Find delectable dishes from various udon noodle soups, Yakimono, Tempuras, Donburiโ€™s, Teriyaki dinners to sushi, rolls and sashimi.ย ย Sushi Village boasts a fun and upbeat atmosphere, serving delicious eats and is very family friendly!

Entrance to Caramba!, one of our favorite family friendly restaurants in Whistler Village. If youโ€™re a fan of seafood, be sure to get the Calamari a la Plancha (which is also offered on the Happy Hour menu!) and the Cioppino.

Caramba!ย
Caramba was a restaurant that really surprised me, but in a good way! Located across the Delta Suites Hotel & Gazebo Square, Caramba! serves delicious European cuisine.ย ย Our favorite dishes were the Calamari a la Plancha, Cioppino and Linguine Frutti di Mare.ย ย I loved the layout of the restaurant as well. It definitely didnโ€™t feel as tight as some of the other restaurants in the Village.ย  Happy Hour Food and Beverage Available 3-5pm Saturdays & Sundays.

Itโ€™s hard to miss Beacon Pub & Eatery centrally located in Whistler Village. Meet up with friends and family for lunch to refuel for the slopes. Grab a drink or two to warm up and have a laid back afternoon. Cheers-1

Beacon Pub & Eatery
Great choice for a laid back no frills type of place for lunch.ย ย We were sat upstairs away from the seating near the bar which was nice and bright.ย ย Loved the cozy mountain pub feel perfect for some comfort foods, beers and cocktails.ย ย I enjoyed the Pulled Pork Tacos, Beacon Wings and of course a Moscow Mule.ย ย The kids menu was a bit more limited here serving just chicken fingers, fish & chips, and flatbread.ย ย

Late Night Happy Hour Available Mondays to Thursdays 9-11:30pm
