Family-Friendly 7 Days Park City Itinerary

Our exact Park City day-by-day schedule — the good, the practical, and the magical. Seven days in Park City with kids. Here is exactly how we did it — where we stayed, what we did, what we ate and everything in between.
Day 1 — Arrive & Settle In
Stay: AC Hotel by Marriott, Kimball Junction
  • Fly LAX → SLC (1.5–2 hrs) — pre-book your rental car for seamless on-site pickup
  • Drive 35–45 min to Park City
  • Late check-in at AC Hotel — drop bags, let the kids spot the mountain views
  • Easy dinner nearby (Kimball Junction has Panda Express, Jersey Mike’s, Chipotle, and Vessel Kitchen steps from the hotel)
  • Early bedtime — big week ahead!

Day 2 — Exploring Midway
Stay: AC Hotel by Marriott
  • 9:45AM — Breakfast in an Alpenglobe at Café Galleria, Midway ($35/globe, weekday). Book in advance — these sell out!
  • 11AM–12:30PM — Dairy Farm Tour at Heber Valley Milk & Artisan Cheese. Hayride, baby calves, robotic milk barn. Adults $18, kids 4–12 $10, 3 and under free. Walk-ins welcome.
  • 2–4PM — Snow Tubing at Soldier Hollow (book in advance, sessions sell out). All ages welcome.
  • Evening — Ice skating at Midway Ice Rink (largest outdoor rink in Utah) or head back to the hotel pool
  • Dinner at Park City Brewery
No Name Saloon and Annex Burger on historic Main Street Park City. No Name Saloon is home to the world famous buffalo burger — a half pound of pure buffalo meat on a grilled bun. Annex Burger next door is the family friendly side of the operation.

Day 3 — Gear Up & Explore Main Street
Check into: Grand Summit Hotel, Canyons Village
  • Morning: Grocery run at Whole Foods (Kimball Junction) + Walmart — stock the suite kitchen for the week
  • Check into the Grand Summit — get oriented, unpack, take in those mountain views
  • Afternoon: Pick up ski rentals at Canyons Village (book online in advance!)
  • Optional: Mountain Coaster and/or Flying Eagle Zip Line at Park City Mountain (11AM–4PM, height requirements apply)
  • Evening — Free shuttle to Historic Main Street → dinner at Annex Burger (walk-in, no reservations) → explore the shops
Day 4 — First Ski Day!
Stay: Grand Summit Hotel
  • Morning: Drop kids at Canyons Village Ski School (9AM). Consider booking a private lesson for the first day for personalized instruction.
  • Parents: Ski the Canyons side — wide greens are perfect for warming up
  • Afternoon: Ski school pickup at 3PM 
  • Après: Pendry Playa après (Thu–Sat) or rooftop Pool House DJ set (Fri–Sun) → both are 2–5PM and totally family-friendly
  • Dinner: Kuchu Shabu in Canyons Village — hot pot fun for the whole group

Day 5 — Ski Day + Sleigh Ride Evening
📍 Stay: Grand Summit Hotel
  • Full ski day — kids back in school, parents explore the Park City Mountain side via the Quicksilver Gondola
  • 5:30PM — Broken Arrow Sleigh Rides at Deer Valley. Allow 20 min drive from Canyons Village. Valet at Stein Eriksen Lodge. $43/person, kids 3 and under free.
  • Dinner: Prime Steak House & Piano Bar (book in advance for a special night out!)
Day 6 — Final Ski Day + Farewell Dinner
📍 Stay: Grand Summit Hotel
  • Last ski day — savor every run
  • Après: Pendry Park City — Party on the Playa or Après at the Airstream (Fri–Sun, 2–5PM)
  • Dinner: The Pendry (arrive early — first come, first served!) or Kuchu Shabu for a cozy farewell meal
Day 7 — Pack Up & Head Home
  • Check out, load up the rental car
  • Drive to SLC (45 min) and fly back to LAX
  • Start planning next year’s trip on the plane
