The absolute best thing that I had for my baby (worked up to 18 months) was theΒ Doona Car Seat & Stroller.Β Β That was hands down my favorite baby item of everything out there.Β Β It really made my life so much easier, especially if you have an older child.Β Β I would have to take Whitney to school drop off and it was so easy to just click the Doona in and out of the car and another easy maneuver to turn it into a stroller to get Erin out of the car.Β Β No more waking the baby up or having to carry the infant car seat into another stroller base.Β Β No more breaking down a separate stroller base and hooray more space in the trunk. The Doona was everything I needed it to be, quick, easy, compact, convenient and stylishly minimal.Β Β

It’s the perfect travel stroller for babies, and what’s even better about it is that it’s also their car seat.Β Β It goes from car seat to stroller in seconds.Β Β Whoever made the Doona was just pure genius.Β Β

Tip:Β Β Yes, the Doona Car Seat & Stroller is pricey, but it also has a great resale value.Β Β I used ours for only Erin and resold it to a friend for more than half of what I paid for it.Β Β Definitely worth it.Β Β

PROS:Β Β Convenient, all-in-one travel system, smooth ride, for everyday use and travel, sets up in seconds, comes fully assembled and ready to use right out of the box

CONS:Β Β Pricey, gets heavy as the baby grows, depending on the size of the childβ€”may have a limit of up to 2 years old, no storage space

The portable WAYB Pico Travel Car Seat shown in Midnight Sky

When our first born was getting bigger and out of their infant car seat, we were dreading having to lug around an extra clunky car seat whenever we travelled.Β Β After much research, we ended up using the forward-facingΒ WAYB Pico Travel Car Seat.Β Β It’s lightweight at 8 lbs, foldable and ultra-portable.Β Β The Pico’s thoughtful design, although light, is very strong with its AeroWing space-grade aluminum alloy.Β Β It’s ideal for children 2 years and up (22-50 lbs and 30-45 inches).Β Β

This portable car seat fits anyone’s on-the-go needs and also comes with a spacious travel backpack to store and carry the car seat in.Β Β Because it can fold down so compact, 11.6’’Lx14.5’’Wx18.9’’, it can be easily carried while traveling and fit into overhead bins.Β Β

Tip:Β Β I especially liked the extra storage in the backpack.Β Β I loved putting extra blankets and jackets in between the empty spaces of the car seat, making it also easily accessible.Β Β

Whitney is always so comfortable when she rides in her Pico.Β Β We use it most when we travel, in our car rentals, on ride shares.Β Β It’s very well suited for families that like to pack light and are always on-the-go.Β Β

And of course, the Pico is designed with safety in mind, meeting all U.S safety standards by the FAA and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Federal Motor Vehicle Safety.Β Β Overall, we like the car seat mainly for travel for its convenience and size, but it isn’t the best for everyday use.

PROS:Β Β Easy to store and carry in its’ dedicated backpack, lightweight, compact, fast and easy set up, longer use for petite children

CONS:Β Β Pricey, May have a learning curve when initially setting it up, straps may be a bit harder to tighten, may be a bit uncomfortable to use on an airplane because no option to recline, belt between child’s legs may be a bit short for larger kids,Β Β not ideal for everyday use, no place for the child to lean their head if they are napping
