There’s something truly special about afternoon tea at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, especially when it’s set against the backdrop of one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. We recently had the chance to indulge in this timeless tradition at the Fairview Bar and Restaurant, and it was nothing short of magical. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply treating yourself, this is an experience that feels like a step back in time, offering luxury, elegance, and a little something for everyone—kids included!

Make Your Reservations Early

If you’re planning on enjoying afternoon tea at the Fairview, it’s essential to make reservations ahead of time. The restaurant is incredibly popular, especially during peak tourist seasons, and you don’t want to miss out. The most coveted spots are by the windows, which offer breathtaking views of Lake Louise and the surrounding mountains. However, we found that most of the tables by the window were for parties of two. For larger parties, there were only two tables of four near the back corner with direct window views, so booking in advance and requesting a window view would probably give you a better chance of securing one of these prime spots.

The atmosphere at the Fairview is refined, yet relaxed, allowing you to unwind while indulging in delicious bites and drinks.

One of the things we loved about this experience was how welcoming it was for families. We had our kids with us, and the Fairview offers a Kids’ Afternoon Tea that’s just as fun and fancy as the adult version. Our children were thrilled with their tea service, which included chocolate milk, kid-friendly sandwiches and desserts. It’s little touches like this that make the experience enjoyable for all ages.

The adult tea selection is, of course, more refined, with an impressive array of teas to choose from. Paired with delicate sandwiches, scones, and sweet treats, it’s the perfect way to spend an afternoon in such a stunning setting.

Afternoon Tea Pricing

Afternoon tea at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is a luxurious experience, and the pricing reflects that:

Adults: Pricing starts at $105 CAD, depending on the sparkling wine selection and includes an assortment of house-made scones, savory bites and sandwiches, topped off with beautiful sweets.
Children: $45 CAD for the kids’ tea or chocolate milk, which includes their own tiered tray of treats complete with sandwiches and sweets.

While it’s certainly an indulgence, we found the experience to be worth every penny, especially given the incredible views, excellent service, and high-quality food and drink.
